M300 Installation Guide This is an update for the VersaJette M300 working with Windows Vista. There are 2 options for installing the new driver software: For customers who have the original CD there is a patch, or for customers who do not have access to the CD there is an ISO disc image to burn a new CD to install the updated driver. Important: Before proceeding with either option make sure you are logged in as an administrator! I. Download and apply the patch file: Because the patch file is very small (approximately 50 KB), it should download very quickly. Here is how to apply the patch and install the new driver software: 1. Download the m300patch.zip file 2. Unzip the file into a temporary folder, for example: c:\temp\m300patch 3. Copy the complete contents of the original M300 CD to a seperate temporary folder, for example: C:\temp\M300 4. Copy the 3 files from c:\temp\m300patch to c:\temp\M300\Driver\Win_XP2K and replace the old files there with the same name. 5. This step is optional, but highly recommended: 5a. download the UltraSaver installation, OEM version, from http://support.g7ps.com/download/ 5b. Empty C:\temp\M300\4XUltraSaver, and unzip the download into this folder. 6. Share the c:\temp\M300 folder (right click the file in explorer and choose the "Share..." option) 7. Create a new drive, for example Z:, by mapping to this M300 share (from the Tools menu in explorer choose "Map Network Drive..."). 8. Open Windows explorer, browse to the setup.exe program in the root folder of Z, and start this program. 9. Follow the instructions on the screen. Ignore any security warnings in the installation process. You will need the serial number found on the original CD sleeve. Alternative for steps 6 and 7 using the subst command: 6. Open a command window by pressing the Windows key + "r" and typing "cmd" into the run box (or by typing "cmd" into the search box of the Windows Start menu). 7. In the command window type the following: subst z: c:\temp\M300 and hit enter. (follow steps 8 and 9 above as normal) II. The iso image of the complete patched driver CD: 1. Download the CDVJM300.zip file. This file is about 143 MB in size. 2. Unzip the iso image file (CDVJM300.iso). 3. Burn a new driver CD using the iso image file. 4. Replace the old CD with this one. You will need the serial number found on the original CD sleeve.
